Last Sunday, three masked youths snatched 8 tolas of gold at gunpoint from the artisan’s shop at Sarafa Bazaar. Case No. 169 dated 27-09-2020 H / U 392,34 B: D: 25,27-54-59 Ammunition Act was registered with City South Moga Police Station. As per the directions of Barjinder Singh Deputy Captain Police (City Moga), SI Sandeep Singh, Chief Officer, City South Moga Police Station along with his team traced the accused on the basis of CCTV footage. Ranjit Singh alias Ramna son of Harnek Singh resident of Khukhrana, Harpreet Singh alias Lakha son of Gurtej Singh resident of Khukhrana, Lakha’s cousin Sambhu, Rajan son of Sundar Lal resident of Gill Road Street No. 2 House No. 170 Vishwakarma Nagar Moga was identified. On which Ranjit Singh alias Ramna and Rajan residents of Moga has been arrested and the gold snatched from them has been recovered and 4 live rods 32 bore including revolver 32 bore have been recovered.
The revolver is a licensed revolver belonging to Harnek Singh, father of accused Ranjit Singh.
Giving information about the above case, Senior Captain Police Harmanbir Singh Gill said that the accused Ranjit Singh alias Ramna, Harpreet Singh alias Lakha and Lakha’s cousin Sambhu were arrested by Reiki Rajan resident Moga for carrying out the incident Gulshan Jewelerji has been working in the bullion market for 5 years who had a secret about this work. During interrogation, accused Ranjit Singh alias Ramna has confessed to several other incidents of looting and his accomplice accused Harpreet Singh alias Lakha son of Gurtej Singh of Khukhrana is also involved in the incident of looting. Two accused Harpreet Singh alias Lakha and his relative Shambu is yet to be arrested and the motorcycle used in the incident is yet to be recovered. The case is also under investigation. The arrested accused will be remanded in police custody and further inquiries will be made about the perpetrators.
