Launch of Second Round of Urban Environment Improvement Program in District Moga

Nihal Singh Wala October 24 (Kuldeep Gohal) – Under the initiatives taken by the Punjab government for the overall development of the state, all facilities are being provided to the people. Under this link, the second phase of Urban Environment Improvement Program has been launched to provide basic amenities to the people of cities. Under this program Rs. 11000 crore is being spent in the state. The program was inaugurated by Punjab Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh through video conferencing from Chandigarh today.
Deputy Commissioner Mr. Sandeep Hans graced the occasion as the Chief Guest at the district level function held at the meeting hall of the local District Administrative Complex. Also present on the occasion were Zilla Parishad Moga Chairman Mr. Inderjit Singh Talwandi Bhangerian, District Congress President Mr. Mahesh Inder Singh Nihal Singh Wala, Sub Divisional Magistrate Moga Mr. Satwant Singh, District Public Relations Officer Mr. Prabhdeep Singh Nathowal and some locals.
Disclosing this here today Deputy Commissioner Mr. Hans said that under this program a total of Rs. 11000 crore development works are being carried out in the state out of which Rs. 3000 crore works have been completed while Rs. Work in progress is also in full swing. Under this program, sewage treatment plants are being set up in the cities, with an emphasis on providing uninterrupted supply of drinking water. Similarly LED lights are being installed and solid waste management is being further strengthened.
Mr. Hans said that under this program Rs. 26 crore would be spent in district Moga, under which Rs. 12 crore would be given to Moga, Rs. 5 crore to Baghapurana, Rs.4.2 crore to Dharamkot,₹1.40 crore to Punjtoor and Cotesekha. Nihal Singh Wala and Badhni will get Rs 1-1 crore for development. Mr. Hans said that as Punjab was coming out of the Corona epidemic, the development work in the state was also gaining momentum. He appealed to the people of the city to cooperate in making the mission Fateh launched by the Punjab government a success and in carrying out the development works in a proper manner.
